Stephanie Riggio, a Southern California native, arrived at painting later in life, only picking up her first brush in 2015 on a gut feeling. Her process begins with a photograph that has inspired her from nature, and, from there, she renders a pencil sketch, begins painting, and finishes off the work with outlines various details in black ink. Steph writes:
"As a lifelong fan of impressionist art, I found that watercolor allows me the freedom to explore shapes and colors without the pressure of getting it structurally accurate. The black ink outline at the end seems to be something I used to do back in my elementary school coloring days"
Stephanie currently lives in the forest of Prescott, AZ and visits to her home in Joshua Tree, CA (Available through short term rental sites)
When not painting, works as a Voice Over artist in TV, Radio, Film, and animation. To see more of that world, head to StephanieRiggio.com .
